DO NOT READ ON UNLESS YOU HAVE READ THE BOOK – SPOILER ALERT!

I really enjoyed this one – a lot more than the first one! Mainly because the writing style had either got more approachable or I had gotten used to Graham’s style. Anyhow, it was a fast paced book for me, even though it is a relatively long one.

I loved some of the characters (and hated others) and all of the characters were well thought out and understood, and each had their own definite and distinguishable personality.

The only thing that I could fault in the book was that at the end, after their daughter, Julia, had died, the two Poldarks didn’t seem at all devastated by the loss, and I felt like the death came and went very suddenly, after which there were a good few chapters talking about a shipwreck!

Thank you for reading!
